The 'Red Wine' Pairing Feast

Oenophiles, this one is for you. Especially if you, like us, are lovers of a fine red wine.  A rather decadent four course meal with wine pairings for each course.  Chilled reds, light red, a robust but velvety red and a dessert red have been selected to perfectly complement each course.

How absolutely marvellous.

Amuse

Spaghetti cartoccio

A mini taster of parchment baked pasta with our puttanesca sauce

Paired with Red Vermouth

Starter

Aveyronnais salad

Roquefort cheese, poached pear, herb croutons, lambs lettuce and house honey and Dijon dressing

Paired with Vigné-Lourac  – Duras Cabernet

Palate cleanser

Raspberry sorbet, red wine and cassis reduction

Mains

Chateaubriand

Thick slices of centre cut local beef fillet. Entrecôte sauce. Roasted winter vegetables.

Or

Sashimi Tuna Agrodolche

Seared pink and served with a sweet and sour red onion sauce. Pan fried potatoes with peppers, spinach and aged Parmesan

Or

Wild Mushroom Wellington

Cepes and field mushrooms with truffle oil and chèvre blanc in butter puff pastry. Marsala sauce. Green bean, roasted yellow pepper and sesame warm salad.

Paired with Château de Saurs – Réserve Eliézer

Dessert

Our speciality chocolate brownie taster plate for the table

Medjool date and pistachio dark chocolate. Tiramisu espresso. White chocolate and Baileys.

Paired with Cline Late Harvest Mourvèdre supplied by John Hattersley

Cheese

House cheeseboard selection of Vacherin, Gorgonzola and fresh Pecorino
