The leaves are falling and the evenings drawing in, which heralds the switch to our seasonal Autumn menu. That means the return of a few favourites like great grandfathers Kedgeree…bet he never thought he be honoured on a menu sitting on his houseboat in Kashmir at the turn of the 19th century…In addition to celebrating seasonal ingredients like sweet potatoes, butternut squash and wild mushrooms, we are also selecting dishes that reflect our family connections and experiences of long, lazy lunches in Aveyron in the South West of France.
Aveyron salad with its fresh figs, crumbled Roquefort cheese, toasted walnuts and pears poached in Gaillac wine. Or vegetarian cassoulet with its smokey flavour and sticky flageolet beans.
